Visiting Faculty Positions

The Department of Mathematics anticipates openings for Visiting Faculty Positions in Data Science and related areas, supported in part by an NSF TRIPODS grant.

The department features a number of faculty members with ongoing research projects that address foundational topics in Data Science, including deep learning, compressive sensing, and optimal recovery, as well as targeted applications. For more details, please click here. The visiting positions, starting in August 2020 and lasting for up to three years, are intended for those who have recently finished their PhD, and come with reduced teaching and strong support for research in computational and interdisciplinary mathematics. They occur at a time of vigorous development of Data Science at Texas A&M University, taking place e.g. in the
Research Institute for Foundations of Interdisciplinary Data Science, The Institute of Data Science, and The Institute for Scientific Computation.

Applications from candidates trained in traditional areas and willing to transition into Data Science are welcome. A complete dossier should be received by December 2, 2019. Early applications are encouraged since the department will start the review process in November 2019. Candidates should upload a completed AMS Application Cover Sheet, a CV, a research statement, and a teaching statement. The candidate should also arrange, at least, three letters of recommendation to be uploaded on the following website. Candidates should upload the requested documents here
